BRINGING BACK THE SUN
Today is the Winter Solstice. This is the day we look forward to in winter because it marks the time of year when the days begin to lengthen, and the sun will, at theoretically, shine longer. While many different cultures have ancients belief around how this happens, one of my favorite tales comes from northern Europe. Many northern European countries have myths and legends that tell us that the sun returns to us riding the antlers of giant white doe.
Regardless of how it happens, I love the Winter Solstice, and its promise of longer, warmer days ahead.
