UPTOWN MURAL

"Uptown mural, you've been living in an Uptown world!"

Let me start here with an apology to Billy Joel for that one.  

One of my favorite things about living in the city, is the wonderful use of buildings as art space.  What would otherwise be plain, and often eyesore brick buildings, are wonderfully transformed into artist canvases, bringing the neighborhoods alive with vibrant color.  

This mural is located just blocks from me in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis, and I am fortunate to walk past it several times each week.  Because it's located on the side of a building by a parking lot entrance, it isn't always readily seen, but when it is noticed, it brings a smile to our faces and brightens our day.  When you think about it, isn't that really what art is all about?
